Why I still love coming to the swap meet.

We recently received this message from one of our shoppers through our Contact Us page and wanted to share it. We always enjoy hearing from the people who visit the Swap Meet and appreciate them taking the time to tell us what keeps them coming back. - THANK YOU!!! I’ve been coming to the swap for a long time, and one thing I’ve always liked about it is that you never really know what your going to find.

Sometimes I come looking for something specific. Other times I’m just there to walk around, grab something to eat, look through the booths and see what catches my eye. Half the fun is finding something you didn’t even know you needed untill you saw it.

But for me, the swapmeet has always been about more than just finding a good deal.

You see families spending the morning together, vendors who have been there for years, new sellers trying something for the first time, and people running into friends they havent seen in awhile. There is always something going on.

I have also noticed the swap meet putting more effort into improving things lately. New website, facbook updates, special events and promotions. I like seeing that because places like this need to keep moving foward.

At the same time, I hope one thing never changes.

It should still feel like a swap meet.

It doesn’t need to become some fancy shopping center. That’s not why people come here. We come because it’s casual, local, sometimes a little unpredictable, and you can spend a few hours walking around without spending a fortune.

There are not many places left where you can shop from small local sellers, get outside, eat something good, talk to people and maybe go home with something completly unexpected.

It’s not perfect, and honestly, thats part of the charm.

Keep improving it. Keep bringing new ideas. Keep giving people reasons to come back.

Just don’t lose what made people come here in the first place.
